Hi. I'm Bruce McLeod, an experienced business coach, mentor and sales professional based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I love getting to know people, understanding their aims and objectives and helping them to achieve these.
My career includes over 20 years' experience in FMCG, corporate and channel sales positions working for blue chip companies such as Ever Ready, Buxton Spring Watercoolers, T-Mobile and O2. I was able to win business from a wide variety of organisations including Samsung Electronics, ICI Agrochemicals, The BBC, Pizza Express, The Met Office, Clear Channel, Robert Bosch, Docklands Light Railway and The London Borough of Hillingdon. I consistently exceeded sales targets, gained key account and sales management experience and was responsible for the induction and training of many new salespeople.
While working at East Midlands Business (EMB), I was involved in the delivery of various business support programmes including Train To Gain, Leaders First and The Leadership and Management Advisory Service which helped managers and their teams address training and development needs. Through these programmes I was able to upskill the employees of over 700 East Midlands based small to medium sized enterprises.
More recently I've supported the employability strategies of a number of higher education organisations including the University of Lincoln, University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University, University of Derby and University of Huddersfield. This has included providing mentoring to entrepreneurial students and tenants of incubation centres, delivering workshops, running drop-in sessions focussed primarily on sales and business development and involvement in student competitions. In August 2016 I joined the University of Derby as Enterprise Advisor where I created and delivered the successful, award winning Be The Boss student enterprise programme. Between October 2016 and March 2018 153 students enrolled onto the programme, 102 benefited from at least 12 hours of support and 72 created a new business. I've also been employed as a Business Advisor on the Ad:Venture business support programme, coaching and mentoring owners of growing businesses in the Kirklees region of West Yorkshire.
Through my company, Peak Business Growth Ltd, I'm hoping to build on this experience and successful track record to provide high quality support to startups and established businesses across the Yorkshire region and beyond.
